Firefox 3.6 to Lockdown 3rd Party Add-ons

Mozilla announced over the weekend significant changes to the coming version 3.6 web browser. In a move meant to keep the browser stable, 3rd party developers will not be able to add their own code to the Firefox components directory. That means a re-write for plugins – of which approximately 75% have already been converted. Version 3.6 is due “any day now” and will include Personas, which will allow easy appearance customization. You can download other Personas from Firefox.
